"I'll be there someday,
I can go the distance,
I will find my way,
If I can be strong,
I'll know every mile,
Should be worth my mile,
When I go the distance,
I'll be right, Where I, belong."
What song brings light and hope into your life? Do you know which song inspires you to move on? I know mine, Michael Bolton's "I Can Go The Distance", theme song for Disney's Hercules.
Sometimes, we rather not move on in life, dared not to take another step further into our lives, just because we are phobic about challenges, risks, even our very own friends. Look around you! The world is changing at breakneck speed. One second of falter, and we might be swept away by the tides of time.
Yet, we are still ignorant about this phenomenon and chose to stand steadfastly on our own "unshakable" stand. We, often despise others who have greater achievements, who have gone further towards grasping their dreams. Some even cursed those who have attained successes in life, even though those who chose to hate others, are evidently capable of emulating the same euphoric results.
Why, we often ask ourselves, do we have winners and losers? Couldn't we just create a win-win situation for everything? Abolish the losing streak, and we shall never be last again. Cancel, delete, everything that would nominate us as losers, the defeated ones, and we shall be the vanguards of our own worlds.
Yes, that sounds a little bit radical, but frankly, THIS IS the real world, a world where we have to strive if we were to go the distance. My classmates, I wished that you would not scowl, scorn those who reaps more fruit than yourselves. Do not despise people just because they had better "luck". It is because they are willing to put the effort not to listen to your back-stabbing lines and sentences, but resiliently continuing their path to the last destination of their dreams.
Going the distance, is not hard at all. What makes it hard, is the mind that is blinded by hatred, jealousy, and avarice. Before I leave, I wished you all stop back-stabbing each other, as not only it hurts the victims, but you too. I know I will get my hero's welcome if I tried. How about you?
