Can't or Won't?

One day in class, I was taken aback at what my Chemistry teacher just threw at one of my classmates. "Wei, you all can't understand or don't want to understand?" That sentence, though short but proves to be one heck of a stiletto plummeting into my chest.

It is true, there are many things us humans cannot do. However, there are only 2 reasons one, can't get the job done. First, the actual inability to do so. And second, the ignorance of self-improving spirit and a solemnly said "no". How often do we see our peers saying they can't finish their Maths because of lack of time, yet still can find time or a couple of rounds of DotA? I find this totally despicable.

Likewise, I too, had this one-of-a-kind "disease" as many others did. Well, it's back to the drawing board for all of us. It is undeniable that us homo sapiens, are not perfect or well-rounded beings. But do bear in mind, that we are made for self-improvement since birth until our golden age and lastly, death. None of us are carved by Gods, Angels, or anything your faith believes to be The One, but we can be the very best within ourselves if we dared ourselves to tackle every challenges we meet.

Can't? Or won't? It's do or die these days. Everything in this world needs decisions. Matter-changing decisions done in bullet-time. Ever asked yourself why you couldn't finish your assignments? Is it because you really can't do it? Or is it because you won't do it?

Many of us still presume that we can't do it because they do not have the essential abilities. Man, however, do have untapped abilities, literally speaking, waiting to be found and later, used to its maximum results. It is because of our very own ignorance that successes are not always found by our doorsteps.

So, is it because you can't? Or you won't?
