The Toddler in Us

Ever notice before your friend could sometimes be as childish as a 3 year old? How about someone who is older than you suddenly acting like a little child, begging you to buy him/her an ice-cream. Believe me, this is what I get to see in my new school, every day, every moment, every time.

Can't believe it? Well, a few stories won't hurt, at least I won't mention the names. Who ever said the elder you are, the more composed and matured you will become? In my class, classmates letting off tantrums is already becoming a daily routine, or more like an everyday sighting. "Arrgh!! My physics o..." Yeah, you've probably heard that before in your class, when your friend haven't finished his/her homework, or maybe just got "stunned" by the teacher in class. Hey, who ever said Physics is easy to tackle?

Hours of blurry, numb-headed expressions is just another casual sight in my Physics class. Yes, Rhasta, I'm talking about you. Inquiring is not a problem, but only if you are not asking silly things, Little Head. I sometimes awe at your abilty to ask questions even Animal Planet cannot think of that question.

Hey, ever heard of our class' most used clique? "Funny o!!" That sentence is so addictive, even the teachers started using it. I could have swear I hear this 2 simple words, well, almost 2 words around 30 times a day. Yes, 30 times! Next clique on the line is "Adui" from our Mr. Cute and Mr. Tall. That usually comes about when Little Head did something out of the ordinary. But hey, Little Head alone is ordinary with his amusing physique, the head, of course.

Ah, yes! I almost forgot about some of my classmates, known to SMK Tawau-kind to be very, very childish. Ever heard of 2 girls quarreling over a small matter? Well, I've got dozens of doses of that without even walking out of the classroom. Even when they are not quarreling, they will look for other people to complain and ask them for support. "Heiyor, why you all always support her o. Just because she looks timid doesn't mean I'm to blame mah!" Enough of this rubbish already Pianist, both of you are just the same, 2 cats on the roof! Yes, you too, Unbelievable.

I could just rave on and on without stopping. But, hey, I can't do that meticulously right? I mean, I've also got a toddler in me. Being the crazy idea generator in class, teachers can't even understand what I'm asking. As if I'm talking "goo goo gaa gaa" to them, whereas I can't even catch what are they talking about! How ironic. Anyway anyhow, being childish does have its benefits.

Hey, at least we could have a few fits and laughs in class. We can't be too overwhelmed in class all the time. Even Ah Mein throws off his tantrum, ending his combo with a nice "what the f**k!". Oh well, I guess there is no harm having our own toddler side. But to those who marvel about their superior maturity, think again. You might wanna be a 3, 4-year-old again.
